Meet Dr. Cooper
|

Background:
|
Founded in 1997 by
Dr. Joel Cooper, The Braces Place is
backed with his 25 years in the field of
dentistry. Joel was born in Rogersville,
Tennessee. He graduated from the
University of Tennessee at
Knoxville and received his dental degree
from UT Memphis. From there he attained
his Master's Degree in Pediatric
Dentistry. Dr. Cooper served in the US
Naval Dental Corps in Rota, Spain and
traveled throughout southern Europe
serving the children of Naval families.
After his overseas tour, Dr. Cooper
entered the arena of academics and began
his teaching career at Baylor College of
Dentistry in Dallas. He then moved to
the Medical University of South Carolina
in Charleston where he was director of
Undergraduate Pediatric Dentistry.
Finally, in 1989 Dr. Cooper entered the
Ohio State University in Columbus where
he attained his specialty degree in
Orthodontics and his Masters Degree in
Anthropology. Dr. Cooper established the
first-ever department of Orthodontics at
Cincinnati Children's' Hospital. In 1997
he returned to his home state of
Tennessee and has since devoted himself
to full-time private practice,
specializing exclusively in
orthodontics. |
